Trio Of Tennis Players Honored

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association today announced that Colorado State tennis players Anne Andersen, Emily Kirchem and Jasmin Singh were all named ITA Scholar Athletes.
To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must be a letterwinner, earn a grade point average of 3.50 or better and have completed at least two semesters of classes at the institution.
This is the third straight award for both Kirchem and Singh and the first honor for Andersen. Andersen and Kirchem were both Mountain West All-Conference selections in 2006 after breaking the school record with 21 victories and reaching the highest-ever regional doubles ranking in school history at sixth. Kirchem also posted the highest-ever individual national ranking, spending time at No. 85.
The 2006-07 tennis season gets underway Sept. 21-23 at the BYU Fall Invitational.
