The Colorado State volleyball team won its second match of the Coors Invitational with a three-game sweep over Florida Atlantic this afternoon, 30-17, 30-25, 30-23. The Rams will face James Madison in the 8:00 p.m. match after the Dukes fell this morning to Wake Forest.

Colorado State was led by redshirt freshman middle blocker Tessa Nelson with 15 kills and a .500 (15-3-24) hitting percentage, while sophomore outside hitter Jaime Strauss chipped in 10 kills, 10 digs and hit .318 (10-3-22). Junior middle blocker Amanda Fahnestock had three of the Rams aces and six blocks in the win, while freshman libero Katelin Batten led the match with 11 digs. Senior defensive specialist also tallied 10 digs in the victory.

Florida Atlantic was led by outside hitter Iana Andonova with 16 kills, while libero Nikki Hartman had 10 digs and right-side hitter Lauren Ditscheit led the team with four blocks.

The Rams hit .347 in the match with 45 kills, five aces, nine blocks and 48 digs, while the Owls hit just .122 with 41 kills, three aces, four blocks and 37 digs.

The Rams are now 3-2 on the season, while Florida Atlantic falls to 0-5. The Owls will face Wake Forest at 6:00 p.m., with the Rams and Dukes playing at approximately 8:00 p.m., in the tournament finale.
