Women Win Wyoming Invitational

The Colorado State men's and women's cross country teams began their season on Friday evening at the Wyoming Invitational where the women won the team title and the men placed third.
Kirsten Anthony finished second in the women's 2.5 mile race with a time of 14:52, while freshman Elizabeth Dunfield was second for the Rams and sixth overall. Sophomore Ashlee Velez was 10th, Renee Mayer placed 12th and Allison Taylor rounded out the scoring in 17th place.
For the men, Steve Swartz finished 12th overall and 10th in the scoring, while Casey Wahlers was 15th overall. David Zakavec placed 21st and Nelson Palacios and Kip Taylor rounded out the scoring in 25th and 26th places, respectively.
The cross country teams will compete Saturday at the BYU Autumn Classic in Provo, Utah.
