Fort Collins, Colo. - In just its third season as an intercollegiate sport, the Colorado State water polo team was picked to finish in a tie for seventh place in the Western Water Polo Association, as selected by the WWPA coaches. Defending champion UC Davis is picked to win the league after ending Loyola Marymount's five-year hold on the league title in 2006. The Aggies received seven first place votes finishing only three points ahead of second-place projection LMU in the 12-team conference.

Colorado State, who has finished ninth in the WWPA standings in each of its first two seasons, received its highest ever projection this season. The Rams return eight letterwinners from last season's team including All-WWPA honorable mention honoree Annie Quinn. Quinn, who will compete in her junior year, finished 2006 ranking 13th in the nation in scoring with a school-record 72 goals.

Colorado State will begin play in the 2007 season by travelling to Ann Arbor, Mich. to play four games in the Michingan Shootout January 27-28.
