The Rams enter the contest with an overall record of 6-12 (1-5 MWC), and face one of the hottest teams in the conference right now in the Wyoming Cowgirls (12-5, 3-2 MWC).

Wyoming opened up conference play this season with a 54-51 home-victory over New Mexico, and following back-to-back road losses at UNLV (51-46) and at BYU (55-52), the Cowgirls got back on track in a big way with home victories over San Diego State (71-47) and No. 23 ranked TCU (66-51).

The Rams, opened up conference play with a 65-56 road win at Air Force, but since then, have dropped five straight at TCU (86-36), Utah (73-57), New Mexico (73-42), at BYU (69-56) and at San Diego State (75-66).

The Cowgirls returned 10 letterwinners and three starters from last season's squad that posed a record of 21-9 (10-6 MWC) and participated in the WNIT.

Head Coach Joe Legerski's squad is led by a pair of junior forwards in Justinya Podziemska, a tranfer from Casper College, and Hanna Zavecz who average 14.9 ppg and 14.4 ppg, respectively. Podziemska, who is expected to come off the bench after missing the previous two games with an injury, also leads the team in rebounding (7.1 rpg) and assists (3.9 apg.).
