POSTGAME QUOTES

CSU Coach Dale Layer

"I thought the first half dictated the game. Their pressure had us back on our heels. Ever time we made a run they hit a big `three.' We played hard, but we didn't play smart enough. It was disappointing to watch."

"We had some open looks, but we didn't knock them down early. You have 16 turnovers in the first half, that's the difference in the game. You give them 16 turnovers...

"We were on our heels most of the night. We just did not respond to their pressure. That's the difference: their pressure versus our lack of poise. Their defense was spectacular. You can't have those turnover problems and expect to beat a really good team."

"They were very physical and we were not as patient as we needed to be early."

"You cannot have 16 turnovers. It was too big a hole. There is no margin for error when you are playing against a good team."

CSU Guard Cory Lewis

"They double hard, but I really couldn't tell you our problem tonight. Lack of focus maybe. We just weren't into mentally I don't think."

"A team like this, going into the second half of conference, that would have been a great home win. They are a very good team though."

"That's why they are ranked. They are very aggressive, they are a good team. They just came with more fight then we did tonight. That's why they came out with the `W'"

"They basically play with four guards and not to take anything away from (Jason Smith) and (Stuart Creason), but when you match up guards versus post players, it's kind of a miss match."

"You can't really get into your offense like you want to, because they pressure 94 feet.

"We just have to get re-focused and correct some things in practice."

CSU Center Stuart Creason

"At first in the first half they weren't doubling, so I could pretty much do whatever I wanted. But early in the second, they were attacking our dribble and we weren't getting as many open looks as we wanted to."

"I think we also, have a lot of points by giving up 16 turnovers in the forced half. And that's on all of us, not just on Cory, he's the one getting double teamed. And we are going to half to address that as a team."

"You can't tuck your tail between your legs. Yes, we have had two tough losses the last two games, but our team is not one to put our heads down."
