The Matchup
Colorado State looks to bounce back from an overtime loss to Wyoming, and snap a six game losing streak, when they visit UNLV on Thursday night at 7 p.m. PT.
The Rams enter the contest with a 6-13 overall record, and are 1-6 in Mountain West Conference action, while the Lady Rebels come into the contest with an overall mark of 9-10 on the season, 3-4 in the MWC. UNLV currently sits sixth in the conference standings, two spots ahead of the Rams.
UNLV is led by head coach Regina Miller who is 162-98 (.623) in her career in Las Vegas. Last season, Miller guided the Lady Rebels to a record of 18-12 and a WNIT appearance. This season, she returns two starters and seven letterwinners from that team.
On the court, UNLV is led by junior guard Sequoia Holmes and sophomore center Shamepa Hampton. Holmes leads the Lady Rebels in scoring with an average of 13.7 points per game, seventh in the Mountain West. Hampton, a native of Colorado Springs, Colo., ranks 11th in the conference in scoring, with a season average of 12.2 points per game.
UNLV also boasts the leagues best rebounder in senior forward Faye Muller, who averages 10.3 rebounds per contest, nearly two rebounds per game better than the Rams' leading rebounder, Marilyn Moulton, who ranks fourth in the league with an average of 8.5 rebounds per game.

The Rams and Rebels have squared off just 23 times against each other, with 15 of those meetings coming since the formation of the Mountain West Conference in 1999-2000, and 22 of the meetings happening within the last 10 years. Overall, Colorado State holds a 14-9 advantage, but the teams have split 12 meetings in Las Vegas. The Lady Rebels are currently riding a three-game winning streak against the Rams dating back to 2005 and have won six consecutive games at home against CSU.

McFarland, Moulton Magnificent
Freshman guard Ashley McFarland and Senior center Marilyn Moulton each posted career-highs in scoring on Saturday at San Diego State. McFarland, whose previous career-best was seven points, notched the seventh 20-point game of the season for the Rams with her 24-point outburst in which she shot 8-for-9 from the field and 4-for-4 from 3-point range. Moulton added a career-best 18 points, eclipsing her old high of 15 points. McFarland and Moulton then each posted double-digit scoring games against Wyoming on Jan. 25. Moulton led the team with 17 points in the game, while McFarland added 12 points of her own.
Hunter Hits 700 Points
Junior guard Sara Hunter eclipsed 700 points for her career during Thursday's overtime loss to Wyoming at Moby Arena. Hunter is the active leading scorer for her career on the Rams' team by a wide margin, having scored 104 more points than senior guard Molly Nohr, who ranks second among active players in scoring with 599 career points.
Moulton Snags 400...Twice
Senior center Marilyn Moulton notched her 400th career rebound at Colorado State on Thursday night at BYU and eclipsed 400 career points on Saturday at San Diego State.
Cornell Crashing Boards
Freshman forward Juanise Cornell reached 100 rebound in the Rams game against New Mexico on Jan. 13 and she enters Thursday's matchup at UNLV with 113 boards in her short career, just 21 rebounds shy of cracking the top-10 in the single-season freshman record books. Her current rebounding average of 6.3 rpg. ranks seventh on the freshman charts.
Rams From Downtown
Colorado State has connected on 91 3-pointers this season which ranks 16th on the all-time single season charts at Colorado State and the Rams' .330 3-point percentage currently ranks tied for 11th in school history.
Nohr Looking For 600 Points
Senior guard Molly Nohr sits on the cusp of 600 points for her career. Entering Thursday's game at UNLV, Nohr has 599 career points.
Hunter With The Assist
Junior guard Sara Hunter is just 13 assists shy of 200 for her career, entering Thursday's matchup with UNLV. The Fort Collins native would become only the 22nd player in school history to reach 200 assists for her career.
Cornell Ties Career-High
Freshman forward Juanise Cornell tied her career-high with 15 points on Thursday against Wyoming.
Double-Double...Almost
For the third time in the team's last four games, a Rams' player has finished one rebound or one point shy of recording a double-double. Junior guard Sara Hunter notched 16 points and a career-high nine rebounds in while playing all 45 minutes against Wyoming last Wednesday, falling just short of her first career double-double. Senior center Marilyn Moulton narrowly missed her third career double-double in the Rams' loss at BYU on Jan. 18. Moulton, recorded 11 rebounds and added nine points in the contest. Freshman forward Juanise Cornell recorded a game-high 12 rebounds, one shy of her career-best, and added nine points in 37 minutes against New Mexico, narrowly missing her first career double-double by only one point. It was Cornell's fourth career double-digit rebounding game.
Rams in Televised Games
Colorado State is 0-2 this season in games broadcast on Television. The Rams fell at then-No. 6 ranked UConn on Dec. 21, which was broadcast on CPTV in Connecticut. At BYU on Jan. 18, the Rams dropped a 69-56 decision. The game was broadcast on BYUTV and tape-delayed on the mtn. Thursday's matchup with UNLV will be the Rams' first live appearance on the mtn. this season.
Hunting for 3's
Junior guard Sara Hunter continues to climb up the career 3-point rankings. Her 139 career 3-point makes ranks sixth all-time and her 373 carer attempts is seventh. Her career 37.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc ranks seventh entering Thursday's matchup with UNLV.
Overtime Overview
Following Thursday's overtime loss to Wyoming, Colorado State dropped to 14-11 all-time in games that go into overtime. Four of the Rams' last five overtime games have come against Wyoming. Overall, Colorado State is 1-6 in overtime games against the Cowgirls. In overtime games against other Mountain West Conference teams since the 1999-2000 season, the Rams are 2-0 with wins at Utah (87-77) and against BYU (71-70) in 2002 and 2003, respectively.
Two Players Reinstated
Colorado State University women's basketball coach Jen Warden today announced that two of the four student-athletes suspended Jan. 12 have bee reinstated to the team.
Warden announced that Emily Neal and Brittney Stirling have been reinstated to the team. They will practice today and travel with the team for Thursday night's game at UNLV.
The other two freshman student-athletes - Kelly Jo Mullaney and Raysha Ritter - remain suspended.
