LONG BEACH, Calif -- The Colorado State men's golf team captured the Del Walker Intercollegiate team title on Friday in Long Beach, Calif. The Rams posted a team total 11-under-par 841 (276-284-281) to pick up the victory by one stroke over Pacific. Colorado State, as a team, recorded three birdies on the final hole to clinch the victory.

"It was a great team effort today," said Head Coach Jamie Bermel. "It came down to a very exciting finish. We played very well and were very fortunate to come away with the win."

The victory, the ninth all-time for Colorado State under Bermel, was the Rams' first since March 19-20, 2004 at the Steve Kerr Invitational.

Sophomore Bryce Hanstad, who led the Colorado State in its first three tournaments of the fall, returned to form with a career-best finish. Hanstad shot a 3-under-par 68 in Round 3 and closed the tournament at 5 under par in a tie for second place. His three-round total 208 (69-71-68) is the lowest of his career, surpassing his previous career-best of 211 carded at last April's Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah.

Fellow sophomore Dustin Morris also finished sub-par for the tournament. Morris carded a final-round 72 and finished with a three-round total of 212, one stroke shy of his career-best set in his collegiate debut at the 2006 Gene Miranda Invitational.

Junior Zen Brown (68-76-70--214) finished two strokes off Morris' pace in a tie for 20th at 1 over par. Sophomores Riley Arp and Sean McNamara finished tied for 26th with three-round totals of 206 (+3). Arp carded rounds of 69-76-71 in the tournament. McNamara carded a career-low round of 69 in Round 2 to go along with an opening-round 74 and a 73 in Round 3.

Junior Praneeth Perera also competed and shot a three-round 219 (70-77-72) to finish at 6 over par.

Colorado State concludes its fall schedule, Nov. 9-10 at the Agua-Caliente Collegiate Invitational in Palm Springs, Calif.
