Tom Hilbert's squad could sweep all in-state opponents with win

DENVER, Colo. - The No. 20 Colorado State volleyball team challenges its fourth in-state team of the season as te Rams travel to the University of Denver Tuesday for a 7 p.m. match in Hamilton Gymnasium. The Rams have not lost to a Colorado team this season and are looking for the program's 650th victory.

CSU has won 15 of the last 17 matches and is 6-3 against non-conference opponents this season. The Rams do not have a non-conference loss since falling to Michigan Aug. 26th in Hawaii. Mekana Barnes continues to be dominant for CSU hitting .405 with 3.89 kills per game and a league-leading 1.79 blocks per game. Jaime Strauss notches an average of 4.16 kills per game. Ashley Fornstrom has an assist per game average of 13.59 to go with 2.26 digs and 1.01 blocks.

The Rams hold an 11-1 advantage over the Pioneers in the series. The two teams have met annually for the last 10 seasons. CSU is 3-1 in Denver. The last match was a sweep by the Rams in Fort Collins on Oct. 4, 2006.

The Rams will make up the postponed match with San Diego State Sunday at 11:30 a.m. in San Diego before taking on Wyoming Nov. 7 in Moby Arena.
