On the Next Tee
The Colorado State women's golf team heads to Buies Creek, N.C., to compete in the Fighting Camel Spring Classic. This is the first time the Rams have ever competed in this tournament. Campbell University is hosting the event, which will feature three rounds of play starting on Feb. 26. Live scoring of each round will be available at www.golfstat.com.

The Field
The tournament field consists of 15 teams from across the country. Participating schools are: Bowling Green, Campbell, Colorado State, Gardner-Webb, Georgetown, High Point, Illinois State, Longwood, Mercer, Old Dominion, Radford, Richmond, Wichita State, Wyoming and Xavier.

Benton's Pace
Junior Chelsea Benton is on pace to once again break the school record for single season stroke average. Benton, who set the school record last year with a 75.13 average, is on pace to have a 74.60 stroke average this season.

Last Spring
If last year's results are indicitive of how this year's will go, Chelsea Benton is set to have another phenomenal spring season. Benton was the top finisher for the Rams in all five of last year's spring tournaments. She had a pair of top-10 finishes en route to becoming one of eight golfers selected to the All-Mountain Conference team.

Swede Success
The Rams will have a new teammate as they enter the spring season. Cecilia Edlund, from Skane, Sweden, will join the team. Edlund had six top-10 finishes while in high school in 2006, including four top-fives and two wins.

Experienced Rams
All but one golfer who competed in last year's spring schedule return to the team for this spring season. Chelsea Benton, Megan Chapman, Amber Ward and Stefanie Ferguson played in all five of last year's spring events.

Home Sweet Home
The Fighting Camel Classic will be a homecoming of sorts for junior Mary Ellen Herring, who will be just a short drive away from her home town of Lillington, N.C.
