At the Glenn Morris Multi Meet, hosted by
Junior Tonya Cure currently sits in third place with 2,765 points, while freshman Sonni Russell is in fifth with 2,650 points and freshman Kristen Kugler is in sixth with 2,513 points.
Pearson ran a 15.10 in the 100 meter hurdles to begin the day, then cleared 5-3 in the high jump, threw a personal best 37-7.25 in the shot put and concluded the day by running a 25.76 in the 200 meters.
Cure opened competition with a 15.73 in the 100 hurdles, cleared 5-4.25 in the high jump, threw a personal best 32-11.25 in the shot put and ended the day running a 26.97 in the 200 meters.
Russell ran a 17.01 in the hurdles, cleared 5-6.5 in the high jump, threw 32-4.75 in the shot put and ran a 27.24 in the 200 meters. Kugler ran a 17.52 in the hurdles, cleared 5-3 in the high jump, threw 33-6.5 in the shot put and ran a 27.21 in the 200 meters. Both are competing in their first collegiate heptathlons.
Competition in the Glenn Morris Multis concludes tomorrow. The decathlon is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m., with the heptathlon getting underway at 11:00 a.m. The Rams will also host the Rob Upton Invitational on Saturday, with events beginning at 10 a.m. with the hammer throw.
