"It was nice to have good weather for a change," said head coach Brian Bedard. "Justin Hazzard had a good meet. It's good to see him get on track and bounce back from the Sun Angel. It's good to get Jennifer Ugo(chukwu) hit the regional mark in the shot. She had a stand out performance today. Big Al (Godell) had a good pr (personal record) in the hammer. He now needs to work on his consistency. Jason Schutz had a big pr in the hammer and regionally qualified then came back and threw well in the discus. This is the third meet in a row he's performed well for us. We're finally getting Magnus (Lohse) back on track after his injuries. He regionally qualified in the shot put and is coming along."

"In combination with the Oregon meet, I thought our distance runners did a great job out there. Watson's time in the steeple is off the charts."

Senior Janay DeLoach continued her hot streak, winning the long jump with a leap of 20-2.5, while winning the 100 meters in 11.78. This marked the third straight meet she surpassed 20-feet in the long jump and the 10th time in her career (outdoor only).

Senior Megan Fox ran a season-best time of 55.51 to finish third in the 400 meters. Junior Emily Pearson finished third in the 100 meter hurdles with a season-best time of 14.24, while sophomore Niomi Ridge was fourth with a career-best time of 14.30. Ridge also came back to win the 400 meter hurdles with a season-best time of 1:02.60.

The women's 4x100 meter relay team consisting of Fox, Tanesha Johnson, Pearson and DeLoach was victorious with a season-best time of 46.17.

Senior Rae Backes won the women's high jump after clearing 5-7, while freshman Jennifer Ugochukwu finished second in the shot put with a NCAA Regional qualifying throw of 47-9.25, which ranks her eighth on the school's all-time descending order list.

Former Ram standout John Woods broke the Jack Christiansen Invitational record in the 100 meters, running a personal best time of 10.16.

Senior Justin Hazzard won both the 110 and 400 meter hurdles, clocking a 14.29 in the 110 meters, while his 400 time of 51.60 is an NCAA Regional qualifying time. Freshman Robert Marin finished second in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.10, while sophomore Kyle Keeler placed second in the 400 hurdles with his time of 53.13.

In the men's hammer, sophomore Alex Godell threw a personal best 196-10 to end with the seventh best throw in school history and qualify for the NCAA Regionals. Junior Jason Schutz was third with a throw of 187-1.

Late last night at the Oregon Invitational, the Rams broke two school records. Senior Rob Watson ran an 8:38.92 in the steeplechase to break the old record of 8:42.98 held by Mike Nicks from 2005. He finished fifth overall and second among collegians and qualified for the NCAA Regionals. Her time is also an NCAA Provisional qualifying time.

Sophomore Kristen Hemphill finished sixth overall and fourth among collegians in the steeplechase, qualifying for the NCAA Regionals with her personal best time of 10:42.41. Senior Danielle Korb also qualified for the NCAA Regionals, finishing eighth overall and second among collegians in the first section of the 1500 meters with a time of 4:27.29.
