>>>CSU LOOKS TO KEEP THEIR SEASON ALIVE

Colorado State (12-17) is set to compete at the WWPA Championship this weekend. CSU is seeded ninth and will face off against the number eight seed Sonoma State (18-18). The winner of that game will proceed to play the number one seed, UC Davis, at 5:30 pm PT.

#8 CSU vs. #9 Sonoma State: Colorado State will come up against Sonoma St. for the second time this season after losing to the Seawolves (9-10) on a last second goal. In 2006, CSU and Sonoma St. met in the first game of the WWPA Championship. Sonoma St. prevailed with a very close 7-6 win. CSU is 1-5 all-time against Sonoma State, however no game has been decided by more than two goals (5-8, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 9-10).

>>>CSU AT THE WWPA CHAMPIONSHIP

Colorado State holds a 4-2 all-time record at the WWPA Championship. The Rams have gone 2-1 the past two seasons. Both years CSU has lost their first game and won the next two. In 2005, Colorado State lost to Cal State San Bernardino 5-6, then defeated Cal State East Bay 6-5 and Cal State Monterey Bay 6-1. In 2006, the Rams fell to Sonoma State 6-7, then went on to defeat Chapman 7-3 and UC Davis 6-1.

>>>RAMS WIN ONE IN LOYOLA MARYMOUNT INVITATIONAL

Colorado State posted a 1-3 record in the Loyola Marymount Invitational on Friday April 13th and Saturday April 14th. Colorado State started the tournament well by defeating Chapman 10-2. Colorado State then played a tough match against Cal State Bakersfield. Colorado State lost the game 7-10 with Senior Laurien White netting two goals. On Saturday Colorado State faced even tougher matchups with nationally ranked UC San Diego and Loyola Marymount. The Rams dropped both games, losing to UC San Diego 4-12 and Loyola Marymount 6-16. White led CSU in scoring with eight goals in the tournament.

>>>WHITE NETS CAREER BEST

Colorado State's Laurien White surpassed her career best goals in a season at the Loyola Marymount Invitational on April 14th. White eclipsed her old record of 52 goals on Saturday against UC San Diego. Heading into the Loyola Marymount Invitational Laurien was just three goals away from her record. White is now second in goals per season at CSU with 57 after scoring eight goals in the tournament. Teammate Annie Quinn holds the record with 72 goals in 2006.
