CSU Men's Golf in fifth at MWC Championship

TUCSON, Ariz. - Colorado State is in a tie for fifth place at the Mountain West Conference Championship. Four Ram golfers are in the top-20 at the par-71, 7,136-yard Catalina Course.
The Rams recorded rounds of 287-289 and hold a 576 two-round total. They are in a tie with the University of New Mexico. Zen Brown is leading the Rams after posting rounds of 71-72 for a 143 two-round total and a tie for 12th. Dustin Morris is one stroke behind Brown and earned a 144 two-round total. Morris recorded rounds of 70-74 and is in a tie for 14th. Aaron Weston is in sole possession of 16th. Weston carded rounds of 74-71 for a 145 two-round total. Derrick Whiting is one position behind Weston and is tied for 17th. Whiting recorded rounds of 72-74 and holds a 146 two-round total. Bryce Hanstad is tied for 21st after shooting rounds of 75-72 for a 147 two-round total. Only four strokes separate Brown, who is leading the Rams, from Hanstad.
Brigham Young remains in first place at the nine-team tournament. The Cougars carded rounds of 272-288 for a 560 two-round total. They lead second-place UNLV by eight strokes. The Rebels have recorded rounds of 275-293 for a 568 two-round total.
Three players are in a tie for first place at a two-round 136: Seung-su Han of UNLV, Robby Ormand of TCU and Adam Porzak of San Diego State. Han recorded rounds of 65-71; Ormand has posted rounds of 68-68 and Porzak has carded rounds of 67-69.
The final round of the 2007 Mountain West Conference Championship is set for Saturday with a 9:30 a.m. tee time.
