Colorado State added five new NCAA Regional Qualifying marks and improved upon several others during competition at both the Drake Relays and Wyoming Invitational today.

The men's 4x100 meter relay team, consisting of Zach Jordan, Denny Majerus, David Eischeid and Drew Morano, qualified for the NCAA Regionals with a time of 40.40 to finish second.

Morano narrowly missed qualifying for the NCAA Regionals in the 100 meters with his time of 10.58, which placed him fifth, while Majerus was sixth in 10.80 and Jordan was seventh in 10.82. Morano's time is the eighth fastest in school history and a career-best for the junior. He then finished third overall and second among collegians in the 200 meters, clocking a 21.11 for the fifth fastest time in school history and qualified for the NCAA Regionals. Junior Andres Urbina won the steeplechase, running a season-best time of 9:54.31. Jeff Wahl finished third in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:02.43, while senior Bryan Dillon's was fifth in 4:05.77.

Freshman Tanesha Johnson won the 100 meters with a career-best time of 12.01, while sophomore Jessica Bruha was third with a career-best time of 12.51. Johnson also won the triple jump with a leap of 40-2.25, but the leap was wind-aided. Sophomore Niomi Ridge finished third in the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.32 and was second in the 400 hurdles clocking a 1:02.88, while junior Emily Pearson was fifth in the 100 hurdles at 14.53. In the discus, Hunt finished second overall and was the top collegian with a career-best throw of 156-6, which is an NCAA Regional qualifying mark. Morton and Kate Colvin tied for third place in the pole vault after they both cleared 11-1, a season-high clearance for both.

Godell had another big throw in the hammer.

Sophomore Alex Godell continued to throw well in the hammer, busting out a career-best of 197-8 for the eighth best throw in school history, while junior Jason Schutz finished second with a career-best toss of 194-11. Senior Trey Eder finished fourth with a personal best throw of 193-5 and senior Nate Heyrman was fifth with his throw of 192-8. Freshman Doug Dieker won the pole vault with a career-best clearance of 15-7.25, which ranks him 11th on the school's descending order lists and junior Collin Ferguson finished third in the high jump after clearing 6-6.75. Junior Jason Smith, returning to track & field competition after the conclusion of spring football, jumped a career-best 49-1 in the triple jump to finish third and miss NCAA regionals by 1.5 inches.

At the Drake Relays, junior Janay DeLoach ran a career-best 11.67 in the finals of the 100 meters to finish third, but the time was wind-aided. She ran the fastest time in the prelims late Friday evening, an 11.69, which was then a career-best time and is the third-fastest time in school history (as wind-aided marks are not allowable for records), as well as an NCAA Regional qualifying time. In the long jump, DeLoach finished third with a jump of 20-6.5, which is her best jump of the season and an NCAA Regional qualifying mark.

Justin Hazzard finished 10th in both the 110 and 400 meter hurdles. He clocked a 14.22 in the 110 meter hurdles, which is a season-best time for the senior and an NCAA Regional qualifying time. He also ran a 51.68 in the 400 meter hurdles.

The quartet of freshman Chantelle Dron, sophomore Heather Loseke, sophomore Kirsten Anthony and senior Danielle Korb combined to run a 19:45.95 in the 4xMile meter relay to finish fourth and break the school record of 19:52.82 held by Meg Larson, Mary Ridder, Anya (Oceanak) Sawyer and Katie Yemm from 2003, while sophomore Kristen Hemphill finished 18th in the women's steeplechase with a time of 11:06.28.
