Colorado State University women's basketball coach Jen Warden has added a transfer, Devran Tanacan, from the University at Albany to her roster.

Tanacan, a 6-4 center from Istanbul, Turkey (Kadikoy Anadolu Lisesi H.S.) played two seasons for the Great Danes. She will sit out the 2007-08 season per NCAA transfer rules, and will have two years of eligibility at Colorado State beginning with the 2008-09 season.

While at UAlbany, Tanacan appeared in 51 games and posted a career-high 10 rebounds against Holy Cross as a sophomore in 2006-07 and twice as a freshman recorded a career-best eight points in a game.

Tanacan also brings a wealth of national team experience, having represented Turkey throughout her career. In 2002, she was named the best 16-year-old in Turkey and was selected at a top-five player in 2004-05. That season, she competed with the U18 Turkish Junior National Team that placed sixth at the European Nationals in 2005. She also competed for Turkey in the U20 European Championships and has been invited to play with the U20 Turkish National team at the European Championships this September.

"Devran is a tremendous low block presence. She is a skilled low block player that can face, pass and hit the outside shot. Her work ethic, national team experience and intangibles will make her extremely valuable to our team. It's exciting to have a Ram represent her country in the upcoming European Championships in Italy."
