CSU Tennis takes first place in top doubles flight

The tournament consists of three flights of singles, flight one (gold), flight two (brown) and flight three (white) and two flights of doubles, flight one (gold) and flight two (brown).
Today, the Rams competed in the brown and white singles flights in addition to the gold doubles flight.
In the brown singles flight, Kirsten Stople fell to Sarah Cassman (AFA), 6-1, 3-6, 10-8, to take 12th place. Greer Satherlie lost to Rebecca Berger (UW), 6-3, 6-3, and finished in sixth place.
In the white singles flight Manar Al-Jazzaf fell to Lisa Clark (MSU), 3-6, 6-2, 10-8; she took tenth place in the flight.
In the gold doubles flight Seltsam/Stople beat Ali Griffin and Laura Villegas (MSU), 8-3, to take first place. After a first round bye Friday, the pair went 3-0 over the weekend to earn the top spot.
"This was a successful tournament for us; we accomplished what we wanted to," Coach Jon Messick commented. "We were competitive in every match we played and gained a lot of good experience against a high level of competition."
The Rams return to the court Thursday, when they enter the BYU Invitational in Provo, Utah.
