Final Stats

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State took it to the final seconds in a game that saw 15 lead changes and 11 ties, but Lorrenzo Wade's three-pointer with 20 seconds left gave San Diego State an 83-82 win Tuesday night in front of 3,073 fans in Moby Arena. CSU made a season-high 14 three-pointers. Marcus Walker had his sixth-straight game with at least 20 points, finishing with a game-high 26, including a late shot that gave the Rams an 82-80 lead in the contest's waning moments.

While the game was not a victory, Head Coach Tim Miles was more than proud of his team.

"Proud of the kids doesn't describe it," said Miles. "The mismatch was incredible that they had to endure. The kids just put their heads down, cut hard, drove hard and made shots. They just didn't flinch tonight. San Diego State earned this one.

"Jesse (Woodard) really played an inspired game. He had a bounce in his step when he finished warm-ups. He was aggressive offensively, driving in and getting layups. When Jesse plays like that consistently he will be a player in the Mountain West."

Ryan Amoroso had a breakout game with a career-high 23 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for San Diego State (15-6, 5-2). Also with double-doubles for the Aztecs were Wade (18p-10r) and Billy White (17p-10r). SDSU outscored CSU 46-14 in the paint.

Woodard earned a career-high 18 points, including four three-pointers, with hustle play and strong penetration. Flynn Clayman also set a career high with 12 points on perfect shooting from the field (4-of-4). Ronnie Aguilar set a career high with five blocked shots. He also finished with 11 rebounds to lead the Rams. CSU had a season-low six turnovers and shot 56 percent from beyond the arc.

The Rams finish out the week at Moby Arena Saturday night against Utah at 7 p.m.
