FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State men’s basketball program, under the direction of second-year Head Coach Tim Miles, will host a free fall coaches clinic at Moby Arena on Oct. 24-25. It will be the second year for the event, which will cover a wide array of basketball subjects and give coaches a chance to watch the Rams run through an entire practice session.

The clinic will start on Friday, Oct. 24, from 6-9 p.m., followed by a social. The next day will begin at 9 a.m. with the highlight being a practice session with the CSU men’s basketball team from noon-2 p.m. Lunch on Oct. 25 will be available for $5. Scattered throughout the two days will be several question-and-answer sessions, including one following the Rams practice on Saturday.

This season, the Rams are poised to rebound from a disappointing 2007-08 season. Starters Marcus Walker (the Mountain West Conference Newcomer of the Year and MWC leading scorer), Willis Gardner (28 starts and averaged 9.8 points from the point guard spot) and Andre McFarland (averaged 8.3 points as a freshman) all return for the Rams. In addition, five new players will make their CSU debut in 2008-09. Division I transfer Andy Ogide (Ole Miss) will see action this season after sitting out last season due to NCAA transfer rules. Ogide is expected to make an impact immediately for the Rams. In addition, junior college transfers Mame Bocar Ba (College of Southern Idaho), Travis Franklin (Colby Community College) and Harvey Perry (College of Southern Idaho), along with true freshman Jesse Carr (Ainsworth, Neb.), should be key additions for CSU.

Miles, who enters his 14th season as a college head coach, is widely known for his energy and enthusiasm. He has won at every level, including national tournament appearances at the NAIA and NCAA II levels, defeating perennial powers Wisconsin and Marquette, plus a 20-win season in his last year at NCAA Division I independent North Dakota State.

Coaches are encouraged to sign up today and bring their entire staff to the clinic. For further information, please contact Craig Smith at 970/491-2945 or e-mail at craig.smith@colostate.edu.
