Game Notes: Basketball hosts New Orleans Wednesday

MATCHUP QUICKFACTS

  • On Monday against Saint Martin’s, Andre McFarland scored a career-high 23 points on 8-11 shooting, including 4-5 on three-pointers, and added 10 rebounds for his second career double-double. In his last two games, the sophomore has connected on 8-9 from three-point range. On the season, he has hit 11-17 (.647) from three-point range - good for second in the MWC.
  • Wednesday’s game will wrap up the Rams’ five-game homestand to open the season. Following Wednesday’s game, CSU will play just two games on its home floor over the next 44 days (Dec. 2 vs. Nevada and Dec. 14 vs. Stanford).
  • Wednesday’s game will mark CSU’s third game in five days. The Rams will play three games in four days during the Rainbow Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii, during the holiday season.
  • Wednesday’s game is Take a Kid to the Game Night. All youth tickets are just $1 (ages 3–17). It is also PSD employee night. Poudre School District employees were mailed vouchers that are good for two free tickets to the game. Those who bring in their voucher and PSD ID to the box office will receive their tickets. Lastly, it’s Ram Club Appreciation Night. All Ram Club members received a voucher for four complimentary tickets to the game. They can redeem their voucher at the Ram Club tent outside of the Moby Arena box office.

ABOUT THE RAMS

Head Coach Tim Miles and his Rams will look to rebound from a disappointing loss to the Saint Martin’s Saints on Monday night. Following Wednesday’s game, CSU will travel to the University of San Francisco for a showdown with The Dons on Saturday. It will be the third all-time meeting between CSU and USF.

ABOUT NEW ORLEANS

The Privateers of the Sun Belt conference, coming off a 19-13 season last year, are off to an 0-3 start in 2008-09. New Orleans’ starting backcourt of Darrian McKinstry and T.J. Worley are leading the way for the Privateers. McKinstry is averaging 20.0 points per game while Worley is averaging 19.7 per contest.
