NEWS AND NOTES

Colorado State and Long Beach State will be meeting in volleyball for the 10th time. CSU's lone win in the series came in 2003 when the Rams swept the 49ers in Long Beach.

The Rams placed three players on the all-conference team, announced Tuesday. Ashley Fornstrom earned her second straight Setter of the Year award while Mekana Barnes and Tessa Nelson both earned all-conference honors. It marked the third straight season that Barnes was honored while Nelson earned her first award.

Danielle Minch has become a force for the Rams in their last two matches. Against BYU on Nov. 20, Minch tallied a then-season-high 14 kills and posted six blocks. Two days later, she surpassed her career high in kills as she tallied 17 on 40 attempts and added three blocks against Utah on Nov. 22.

Barnes posted a season-high 22 kills and hit .447 in the Rams' five-set marathon match at BYU on Nov. 20.
