LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The No. 9-seeded Colorado State women's basketball team (3-27) closed the game on a 25-5 run, silencing the hometown crowd and pulling away for a 68-49 victory over the No. 8-seed UNLV Lady Rebels (8-22) on Tuesday evening in the play-in game of the 2008 Mountain West Conference Tournament at the Thomas & Mack Center.

With the game tied at 44 after and freshman forward Elle Queen's free throw at the 7:13 mark in the second half, senior guard Sara Hunter hit back-to-back 3-pointers to break the game's 11th and final tie and the Rams never looked back.  Hunter and Queen tied for the game-high with 16 points.  Hunter shot 6-for-16 from the field, 4-for-8 from 3-point range, while Queen added seven rebounds and three assists in the game.

Junior Amaka Uzomah led all players with 12 rebounds and six assists in the contest, to go along with seven points.  Sophomore Juanise Cornell added 10 points and seven rebounds in the game.

Shamela Hampton led the Lady Rebels with 16 points in the contest.  The Rams held the conference's leading scorer, Sequoia Holmes, to just seven points and seven rebounds.  Holmes was hindered with foul trouble for much of the game.
