FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The 2008 Colorado State women's basketball summer camps begin in one month. First-year Head Coach Kristen Holt and her staff will offer individual camps, as well as two sessions of team camps.
This year's camps begin June 3-6 with the individual Fundamentals Camp. The Fundamentals Camp for players entering grades K-8, is a high-energy day camp for those individuals who are just beginning and for those who are looking to become even better players. The basic fundamentals will be taught in a number of fun and exciting drills and will include various competitions in which players can display what they have learned. The camp will focus specifically on the fundamentals of the game, including: shooting, passing, ball handling, defense and running the fast break. The camp will be divided by age and ability level.
Colorado State will then offer a pair of camps designed for teams. The Team Camp - which is limited to 70 teams, grades 7-12 with a coach - runs June 19-22. Teams involved will be guaranteed eight games. All-star and summer travel teams are encouraged to participate. The final camp of the summer, the Roundball Round-Up team camp, runs June 27-29. The camp offers tournament play catering to junior high, high school and club teams. Instructional elements and game situations will also be included in the Roundball Round-Up.
