FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State student-athletes Annie Quinn (water polo) and Hilary Tyler (tennis) have earned second-team academic all-district honors from ESPN The Magazine and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced recently.
Quinn, a senior speech communications major from Salt Lake City, Utah, has a 3.78 GPA and led her team in scoring last season with 49 goals. As an attacker, Quinn has been the scoring leader three out the four years of her CSU career. She also owns the lead in career hat tricks with 30.
Tyler, also a senior speech communications major from Grand Junction, Colo., has a 3.88 GPA and is also a team leader. She spent her senior year competing at the Nos. 1 and 2 singles positions and solely at No. 1 doubles. As the only senior, Tyler matched up with the most ranked opponents of any Rams player, facing six at the No. 1 spot. She won 14 singles matches and 11 doubles matches her senior year, in addition to a team-best 18-11 singles record and 23-2 doubles mark her junior year.
Colorado State competes academically in District VII against several Big Ten and Big 12 schools. The nation has eight districts.
