FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- The No. 17 Colorado State volleyball team continued to play well Saturday afternoon in the Hilton Classic, defeating the Denver Pioneers (25-22, 25-15, 25-17) and extending the Rams' home winning streak to 16 matches.
The Rams have started the season with two wins, with Friday night's win over the Arkansas Razorbacks (25-16, 25-16, 25-18). CSU has swept both of its matches to open the year.
"Denver is a good, defensive team," said Head Coach Tom Hilbert. "We ended up winning because we blocked, and in long rallies we stuck with it."
Next up for the Rams is Saturday night's final game of the tournament against Eastern Washington at 7:30 p.m.
"Eastern Washington looked strong against Arkansas today," said Hilbert. "Hayley Hills, their best player, went off this morning; this will be a tough match for us."
