FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State volleyball Head Coach Tom Hilbert announced Monday the signing of Katie Rutherford to a National Letter of Intent.
Rutherford is the third commitment for the Rams during the fall early signing period, joining Kelsey Snider (Arvada, Colo./Pomona HS) and Marlee Reynolds (Dalhart, Texas/Dalhart HS).
Katie Rutherford
Rutherford is a three-time all-region player from Sunrise Mountain High School in Peoria, Ariz. Selected as her team's captain in 2009, she was named Player of the Year for the Mustangs, and has earned back-to-back all-state nods during her junior and senior seasons. Rutherford is ranked No. 62 nationally as a Prepvolleyball.com "Senior Ace," and is on the AVCA All-America watch list.
Hilbert on Rutherford: "Katie is a tall setter who has a knack for blocking. She comes from a good club background. She is a player who is capable of coming in and competing for playing time right away. Katie was in our camp this summer, and she is just getting better all the time."
