CSU track and field will host throwing clinic

The CSU Winter Throws Clinic is designed for coaches and athletes to learn new techniques and drills for the high school level athlete and beyond.

The clinic will feature throwing technique materials, drills and demonstrations to assist both the coaches and athletes. The clinic will also feature throwing drills and technical presentations given by collegiate athletes, world-class throwers and top regional coaches.

Special guests attending will be University of Colorado Throws Coach Casey Malone, the 2009 USA discus champion and 5th-place finisher at the 2009 world championships. Jason Schutz, a three-time All-American and volunteer assistant coach at Colorado State University will also attend.

The clinic will be limited to 60 participants due to the limited space available. The cost is $ 50.00 for athletes and $50.00 for coaches. To reserve your space, please submit your completed application and camp fees by December 1.

It is recommended that participants bring a lawn chair or folding chair as seat¬ing will be limited. Also, video cameras will be allowed in order to film the technical instruction and drills presented.

The clinic will start at 9:30 a.m. MT and end at 4:30 p.m. and will be held at the Indoor Track, located in the South College Fieldhouse on the Colorado State University campus.
