FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Coming off of their second consecutive three-win weekend, the Rams (6-7, 4-0 Western Water Polo Association) will head to Rohnert Park, Calif. to participate in the Seawolf Splash invitational tournament hosted by Sonoma State University this weekend.

CSU will play two familiar opponents this weekend, facing off for the second time against both Cal State East Bay (1-6, 0-4 WWPA) and Cal State Monterey Bay (2-9, 1-3 WWPA). Even though the Rams defeated both teams last weekend en route to improving to 4-0 in conference play, they aren't expecting the teams to roll over this weekend.

"We're not going to overlook them," coach Mike Mood y said. "Our girls are going to be physically, emotionally, and mentally ready for those games."

If the Rams can pull out victories in both contests, they can improve their conference record to 6-0, which will go a long way toward seeding for the conference tournament at the end of the year.

CSU also plays two non-conference games this weekend, Cal Lutheran (0-2) and Pacific (1-4). The Rams can climb back to .500 with at least three wins this weekend, and Moody acknowledges that this would be a great achievement, especially after starting the year 0-4.

"It would be a marker for where we would want to be at this point in the season." Moody said.

The Rams' offense has been key in all six victories this season, scoring in double digits in five of those games. Multiple players have contributed, including freshman Kallie Berry, who received WWPA Player of the Week honors for her tremendous play last weekend in Bakersfield, where she scored 10 goals in four games, and junior Sarah Ostling, who leads the team in goals with 23. Moody recognizes that it's the teamwork that has been the cement for the Rams offensive foundation.

"It's the girls looking at the defense and making the right reads," Moody said. "It's a very tough task for a defense to shut us down."

The Rams are sure to be tested in all four events, but they feel confident in their abilities to come away with another winning weekend.

"We have to go out there and play hard," Moody said. "We have to stick to the game plan, and come home with some Ws."

The Rams play two games Saturday. First is Cal State East Bay at 10:30 a.m. MT, and then CSU plays Cal Lutheran at 2 p.m. MT.
