MATCHUP QUICKFACTS
Colorado State will host New Mexico on “Senior Day” in the Rams’ final home game of the season. The Rams enter Saturday’s game with four conference victories, which ties for their second-most MWC wins in a season in the last six years. In 2006-07, the Rams won seven MWC games.
On Saturday, the Rams’ senior class of 2009 (Willis Gardner and Marcus Walker) will be honored at “Senior Day.” Heading into the game against New Mexico, Gardner has played in 54 games in two seasons at CSU, and averaged 9.6 points and 2.5 assists per game. Walker, an all-conference selection in 2008 and the Mountain West Newcomer of the Year last season, has played in 56 games in two seasons in a Rams uniform. He is on the verge of scoring 1,000 career points in only two seasons and has averaged 16.6 points per game in his CSU career.
On Wednesday against Wyoming, Andre McFarland hit a career-high five three-pointers and finished with 16 points. Over his last two games, he has hit 9-16 (.563) on three-pointers and has averaged 14.5 points per game. He now leads the Rams with 50 three-pointers on the season.
CSU sophomore Andy Ogide has scored in double figures in four straight games, including 19 points and six rebounds against Wyoming on Wednesday. During that stretch, he has averaged 14.0 points on .511 (23-45) shooting and 4.8 rebounds per game.
The Rams are 3-4 at home in conference play and with a win on Saturday would finish at .500 (4-4) at home in MWC action. Four home conference wins would tie for the most in one season since the 2000-01 season, when CSU picked up five home MWC wins.
