FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State junior Laura Neal was honored this week with her inclusion on the 2008-09 women's tennis all-conference team, the Mountain West Conference announced at its championship tournament.

Playing all of her singles matches as the Rams’ No. 1 or No. 2 player, Neal picked up four wins at each position, and went 13-14 overall. She closed the season by winning her last two matches, helping the Rams secure a seventh seed in the MWC championships.

In doubles competition, Neal went 6-6 at the No. 1 position, playing with Lauren Strasburger or Tori Arneson.

The award adds to a growing collection for the Portland, Ore., native, who has been honored as a MWC Scholar Athlete and all-academic MWC in each of her first two seasons at CSU.

New Mexico senior Ola Abou-Zekry collected her first MWC Player of the Year honor after posting a 24-10 record this season, including a 7-1 mark in MWC matches at the No. 1 position. The Cairo, Egypt, native, registered four victories over ranked opponents during the 2008-09 campaign.

BYU's McCall Jones earned MWC Freshman of the Year honors after netting a 20-11 overall record this season, including a 4-3 mark in MWC action at the No. 1 position.
