Next on the tee...
No. 24/26 Colorado State will seek its second consecutive Mountain West Conference title in Tucson, Ariz., in the 2009 MWC men’s golf championship Thursday. The tournament is a three-day, 54-hole competition with 18 holes played each day, beginning at 8 a.m. MT.

The course...
The tournament will be held on the Catalina Course of the OMNI Tucson National Golf Club. The par-71, 7,136-yard course is located in Tucson, Ariz. Tucson National has been the home to countless PGA Tour and NCAA events, including the prestigious Chrysler Classic of Tucson and the NIT, in which CSU competed in March.

The field...
Colorado State enters ranked 26th in the nation in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin performance index and 24th in the Golf World/Nike coaches’ poll. The Rams’ competition will consist of the eight other Mountain West schools - Air Force, BYU, No. 37 New Mexico, No. 23 San Diego State, No. 20 TCU, No. 22 UNLV, Utah and Wyoming.

Rams lineup...
Competing in the tournament for the Rams will be Zen Brown, Bryce Hanstad, Dustin Morris, Riley Arp and Zahkai Brown.

Notes...
•  The Rams are once again atop the leader board in the Mountain West. Dustin Morris leads the conference in stroke average with a 71.03. Zahkai and Zen Brown are third and fourth, respectively, and Bryce Hanstad rounds out the top five. Riley Arp, fresh off his highest finish of the season, is seventh in the conference. Tom Whitney of Air Force and Eddie Olson of UNLV are the only non-CSU golfers in the top seven.

•  With its victory March 17 at the Barona Collegiate Cup, the Colorado State men’s golf team captured its fifth team title of the season, tying the school record set during the 2003-04 season.  This week CSU will have an opportunity to tie the Mountain West Conference record of six team titles set by BYU in 1999-2000.

•  After his 14th-place finish at the Cougar Classic, Zen Brown has 24 top 20 finishes in his career, tying with Nolan Martin for fourth overall in CSU history. Junior Dustin Morris is currently in sixth with 18 career top 20 finishes.

•  Riley Arp has returned to postseason form with his second-place finish at the Cougar Classic. Last year Arp finished his final three tournaments in the top five, including a 212 at the 2008 MWC championships to finish second. The Rams hope he can repeat his performance in Tucson this year.
