EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- After securing an invitation to a rookie minicamp at Giants Stadium this weekend, Tommie Hill took full advantage of the opportunity.

Hill, who anchored the right side of CSU's defensive line the last few seasons, was invited to the camp on a tryout basis. He showed Head Coach Tom Coughlin and the Giants' personnel staff enough at the camp to earn a contract as a non-drafted rookie free agent.

The 2008 New Mexico Bowl Defensive Player of the Game, Hill was one of six tryout players invited by the Giants to return at the conclusion of the camp, which included the team's draft choices and previously signed free agents.

Hill now plans to return for another minicamp June 16-18 with the Giants.

Including Hill, five players from the 2008 Rams have now secured slots on current NFL rosters. The San Diego Chargers drafted RB Gartrell Johnson hours before also signing TE Kory Sperry as a free agent. Plus, QB Billy Farris (Cincinnati Bengals) and RB Kyle Bell (Jacksonville Jaguars) also inked free-agent contracts.
