Twelve Rams earn all-conference honors

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Twelve members of the Colorado State track and field team earned all-conference honors, it was announced today by the Mountain West Conference. All-conference selections are awarded to the top three finishers in each event.
The eight men earning all-conference honors were Nnamdi Agwu (triple jump), Wil Buchanan (1,500 meter and 4x400-meter relay), Brian Fox (4x400-meter relay), Ryan Friese (800 meters and 4x400-meter relay), Alex Godell (hammer throw), Nigel Joseph (400-meter hurdles and 4x400-meter relay), Ian Lettow (shot put) and Caston Mabin (high jump). Of that group, three CSU men took home individual titles at last weekend’s MWC meet. Friese, Godell and Mabin all won in their respective events.
On the women’s side, Meagan Berg (hammer throw), Kristen Kugler (heptathlon) and Nicole Peters (3,000-meter steeplechase) all earned honors in one event while Missy Faubus earned all-MWC recognition in both the shot put and discus. Faubus was CSU’s lone event winner at the MWC meet as she captured the discus title.
Regional Qualifiers
The Rams will be sending 19 athletes to the NCAA regional meet, hosted by Oklahoma on May 29-30. The following is the list of athletes that have regionally qualified:

Spenser Lynass; 3,000-meter steeplechase
Jake Keyser; 3,000-meter steeplechase
Doug Dieker; pole vault
Tyson Williams; shot put
Alex Godell; hammer throw
Jeff Horinek; discus
Caston Mabin; high jump
Nnamdi Agwu; triple jump
WOMEN
Kirsten Anthony; 1,500-meter run and 5,000-meter run
Nicole Peters; 5,000-meter run and 3,000-meter steeplechase
Missy Faubus; shot put, discus and hammer throw
Jennifer Ugochukwu; shot put
Meagan Berg; hammer throw and discus
Leah Elmshauser; hammer throw
Marissa Saunders; 1,500-meter run
