FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State men’s golf Head Coach Jamie Bermel announced Thursday that Kory Harrell, who spent his freshman season competing at the University of Northern Colorado, has signed a scholarship and will transfer to Colorado State in the fall.
Harrell competed in 10 tournaments for the Bears in 2008-09, accumulating a stroke average of 77.11 in 27 rounds. Harrell also posted a pair of top 10s, including a tie for fourth place at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, a tournament which Colorado State won. Harrell carded a closing 68 in the tournament to tie CSU’s Dustin Morris with a three-round total of 217, Harrell’s lowest score of the year.
Harrell, per NCAA rules, will be granted a one-time transfer exception and will be eligible to compete for the Rams as a sophomore during the 2009-10 season.
