FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State men’s basketball Head Coach Tim Miles announced Friday the hiring of Randy Baruth to the position of director of basketball operations.

Baruth, 31, rejoins Miles’ staff after serving as a graduate assistant at North Dakota State for two seasons from 2002-04, when Miles was head coach of the Bison. Most recently, Baruth spent the last five seasons as an assistant coach at Northern State University under Wolves head coach Don Meyer, who ranks first all-time in college basketball history for coaching wins. During the 2007-08 season, Northern State posted a 29-4 record and was ranked in the Division II Top 25 for nearly the entire season.

“Randy is a fantastic individual that will bring a wealth of experience to our program,” said Miles. “Randy is highly organized and possesses a work ethic that is second to none. He will make a major contribution to our program.”

The Alpena, S.D., native is a graduate of Dakota Wesleyan University, where he majored in elementary education and played basketball.

Baruth and his wife, Meghan, will relocate to Fort Collins and he will begin work with the Rams in July.
