Men's golf earns two All-American Scholar awards

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Zen Brown and Bryce Hanstad were named to the All-American Scholar team, Cleveland Golf/Srixon announced today.
To earn consideration for the award, the student-athletes must have a GPA over 3.20, be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least two years at the collegiate level, maintain a stroke average under 76.0 and must have played in over 70 percent of all regularly scheduled rounds during the season or the NCAA Championships.
Brown, a recently graduated senior out of Arvada, Colo., earned the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar award for the second time in his career at Colorado State, acquiring the honor in his junior year. With a degree in business administration, Brown finished this season with at 71.78 stroke average.
Hanstad, who will be a senior entering the upcoming season, out of Alexandria, Minn., finished his junior year at CSU with a 3.41 GPA in business administration. He also finished the season with a stroke average of 72.28.
Both players also earned Mountain West academic all-conference awards this season, and Brown earned a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete award as well.
