BREMERTON, Wash. - Amidst 25 mph winds the Rams finished ahead of only Chattanooga and Indiana at the Ping/GolfWeek Invitational Monday. After starting the day 29-over-par, Colorado State carded a 20-over-par 308 team total to finish the tournament with a 913 in 13th place.

Head Coach Jamie Bermel elaborated on Day 2 of the tournament.

"It was windy again today," Bermel said. "The greens were firm and fast. It was just a hard golf course, but everybody had to play it and we made it much more difficult than it should have been."

Oklahoma State (-2) won the tournament 22 strokes ahead of second-place Washington with Cowboys Peter Uihlein, Morgan Hoffmann and Trent Whitekiller finishing first, second and third, respectively.

Dustin Morris finished the day with a 78 for a three-round total of 229. The performance landed him in a tie for 41st place. Bryce Hanstad finished one stroke behind in 43rd after carding the Rams' lowest score of the day, 75. Sean McNamara also finished tied for 43rd with Hanstad.

Riley Arp shot par or better on 12 of the holes in the final round but was plagued by two double bogeys and finished with a 232 in a tie for 51st place. Zahkai Brown, also with an up-and-down day, shot a 4-over-par round to finish the tournament in 61st with a 234.

"We began today on the back nine and we played well," Bermel explained. "We were 2-over after that but we simply did not finish. We were 18-over on our second nine. We just didn't get it done - no excuses. We have a day off Tuesday and then we'll get to work on our next tournament."

The Rams won't compete for another two weeks when they tee off at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational in Fairfax, Calif., on October 12.
