Tennis recap: Rams conclude ITA regional

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Rams concluded fall play Saturday morning in Las Vegas, Nev. at the ITA Region Championship with a final win for Colorado State.
Lauren Mulhern and Tori Arneson matched up early Saturday morning against Barbara Machiocha and Silvia Irimescu from Idaho. The pair put up a tough fight but was quickly defeated in the last match of the tournament, 8-4.
"We kept play competitive each day and were able to build our confidence each match," said Head Coach Jon Messick. "It was unfortunate that we were not able to meet that level of play this morning."
Throughout the tournament the Rams kept play competitive, improving play each day.
The team started off the week going 1-4 in singles on Wednesday. CSU was 0-2 in doubles and also went 2-2 in the singles back draws on Thursday. Then on Friday the Rams were 2-2 in singles and 2-0 in doubles matches.

The CSU women's tennis team will return back to the courts Jan 29, 2011, when they host their first home match at the team's new facility and for the season opener against Denver.
