LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Dana Cranston and Megan Plourde tied for match-high honors with 10 kills each, leading the No. 17-ranked CSU volleyball program to a 3-0 victory at UNLV on Saturday afternoon.

Cranston, playing outside hitter because of an injury to senior Danielle Minch, closed out the match for the Rams, notching her 10th kill (a career-best) on the match point to cap a double-double performance in which she also led the team with 10 digs.

Plourde led all players hitting .529 (10-1-17) on the afternoon, while Cranston finished with an impressive .346 hitting percentage, committing just one error, in her new role.

Junior setter Evan Sanders tallied 30 assists, helping the Rams to a .206 team hitting percentage.  Defensively, the Rams held UNLV to .058 hitting.

Junior Katelyn Steffan recorded six assisted blocks.  Plourde tallied two solo blocks and four assisted blocks.  Overall, the Rams outblocked the Rebels, 11.5-6.0.

With the win, CSU improved to 15-2 overall and 5-0 in the Mountain West Conference.  UNLV falls to 6-12 overall and 3-2 in the MWC.

The Rams return to the Court Thursday, hosting the second-place TCU Horned Frogs at Moby Arena.  The match marks the debut of CSU’s new video scoreboard.  Tickets are just $2 to mark the event.
