FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State announced Tuesday it will host the 2011 Mountain West Conference track championships. This will be the fourth time Jack Christiansen Track has hosted a conference championship.
The Air Force Academy will no longer host the event, as originally scheduled, due to the construction of its new track and field facility.
“We are excited to host the MWC championships this season,” said Head Coach Brian Bedard. “It’s a great event to bring to the community of Fort Collins. Every time we host we have an outstanding turnout from the fans, and our administration has already committed staff and resources to make it a special event.”
The event will take place May 11-14, 2011 at Jack Christiansen Track.
“It’s a chance for us to showcase Colorado State University and our track and field program,” Bedard added.
More information including hotels, parking, tickets and the meet schedule will become available on csurams.com within the next few weeks.
The indoor track and field season begins Jan. 14 as the Rams open up competition at the Air Force All-Comers meet in Colorado Springs, Colo.
