LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Colorado State volleyball team moved one spot in American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I poll, to No. 14. The poll was released Monday afternoon.
Prior to this week, the Rams held the No. 15 ranking, after losing their first conference match at New Mexico on Nov. 11. Since that loss, CSU has swept both TCU and Wyoming.
The Rams win over Wyoming allowed the team to secure a share of the Mountain West Conference title and New Mexico’s loss to BYU on Saturday gave the Rams the outright championship and the MWC’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Rams are 24-3 overall, 13-1 in the Mountain West.
The team’s 2010 conference season comes to a close this week at Moby Arena, as the Rams host Utah (Wednesday) and BYU (Friday) for the final time as Mountain West rivals. This week has been designated Fan Appreciation Week at Moby Arena. CSU will also honor the careers of four players – Jacque Davisson, Audrey Hemmings, Emily Koenning and Danielle Minch - with a special Senior Day ceremony prior to the start of the BYU match.
