LEXINGTON, Ky. – After holding steady at the No. 14 position last week, the Colorado State volleyball team has once again moved up a spot to No. 13 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I Coaches top 25 poll, released Monday afternoon.
The No. 13 ranking is the best standing in the ACVA top 25 poll for the Rams this season. The improvement comes after CSU defeated both UNLV and Air Force this past weekend. The Rams downed UNLV in four sets on Thursday night - 25-14, 25-17, 22-25, 27-25 - and went on to sweep Air Force on Saturday afternoon - 25-17, 25-17, 25-9.
Currently, the Rams are on a 13-match winning streak, and are yet to be defeated in Mountain West play. With a record of 22-2 overall (11-0 MWC), CSU has five matches left on its regular-season schedule.
The team takes to the court this week, traveling to New Mexico Thursday and TCU on Saturday. Thursday’s matchup pits the Rams against the second-place Lobos in the MWC title race. After facing rival Wyoming on Nov. 18 in Laramie, Wyo., the Rams will return to Moby Arena to take on Utah (Nov. 24) and BYU (Nov. 26) during Fan Appreciation Week to close out their regular-season schedule.
