FORT COLLINS, Colo.- After a successful “orange-out” for the men’s basketball border war game, the women’s team is taking its turn Saturday against UNLV but with a decidedly different color. Pink.
Saturday’s annual Pink Zone game features several promotions for fans of all ages. Pink Zone is a national campaign with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association to raise awareness for breast cancer.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the 2 p.m. game as a show of support for the campaign. To help the cause Russell Athletics is giving away pink CSU Rams T-shirts to the first 100 students. CSU athletics is also working with Poudre Valley Health Systems to provide vouchers for free admission and a free pink Rams T-shirt to breast-cancer survivors via e-mail.
In addition to the Pink Zone, this weekend is Ram Legends Weekend and former Rams basketball players will be recognized on the court during a special halftime ceremony.
The game also marks Ram Club Appreciation Day, which means that all current Ram Club members can present their membership card to the Ram Club booth outside of the Moby Arena box office and receive two complimentary general admission tickets to the game.
Saturday is also Jason’s Deli Kids Day and kids tickets are on sale for only $1. Before the game Junior Ram Club members will have the opportunity to form a “high-five tunnel” for the players to run through as they enter the court. After the game kids can shoot free throws on the court and players will be available to sign autographs.
Tickets are on sale now, $8 for reserved seats, $6 for general admission and $1 for kids. Tickets can be purchased online at CSURams.com, over the phone by calling 1-800/491-RAMS or in person at the McGraw Athletic Center ticket office.
