COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Trevor Brown, who signed a National Letter of Intent Feb. 3 to compete at Colorado State, held the nation’s No. 1 high school time in the 60-meter hurdles this week.

Brown, a senior at Wasson High School in Colorado Springs, Colo., posted a 7.81-second effort in the 60-meter hurdles Jan. 30 at the MLK Mile High Classic in Denver, topping the previous best by a male high school athlete, 7.89 held by Sam Gagliano from Waxahachie, Texas.

The 2009 Colorado state runner-up in the 110-meter hurdles, Brown also was the third-place finisher in the 300-meter hurdles.

Brown also competed in the AAU national championships last season, placing eighth in the 110-meter hurdles and ninth in the 400-meter hurdles. An academic letterman, he also played football for the Thunderbirds.
