Men's golf preview: Rams continue action in Tucson

Next on the Tee
No. 32 Colorado State heads south this weekend to take on the nation's best at the Callaway Collegiate Match Play in Tucson, Ariz. The action begins Sunday and continues through Tuesday, with two rounds Sunday and one round on Monday and Tuesday. The course
The Ritz Carlton Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz., will be the stage for the competition. The par-72, 7,814-yard course features elevations changes from 2,300 to 3,000 feet.

The field
The sixteen team field will compete in four rounds of head-to-head play, with a champion being crowned the final day. CSU will once again be competing against some of the best teams in the nation in this tournament, including three MWC opponents. The Rams enter the tournament as the 12th seed, taking on  No. 5 seed UCLA. The winner will then face either No. 4 seed Arizona State or 13th seeded Iowa.

The field includes No. 43 Arizona, No. 15 Arizona State, Indiana, No. 41 Iowa, No. 29 Middle Tennessee State, No. 47 New Mexico, No. 25 San Diego, No. 14 USC, No. 2 Stanford, No. 17 TCU, No. 4 Texas A&M, No. 16 Texas Tech, No. 7 UCLA, No. 11 UNLV and No. 6 Washington.

Rams lineup
The five golfers representing the Rams in Tucson will be Dustin Morris, Bryce Hanstad, Riley Arp, Zahkai Brown and Ryan Peterson.

Last time out
Capping the tournament with a final round of 71, which included an eagle on Hole 2, Bryce Hanstad tied for second place at the National Invitational Tournament on Thursday.

Hanstad led the Rams, who finished in sixth place at the NIT with a 9-over-par 873 team total. CSU moved up from eighth place in the final round of play by shooting 5-under-par.
