Women's golf preview: CSU competes at Entrada Classic

The Colorado State women’s golf team travels west to St. George, Utah on Monday to compete in the BYU at Entrada Classic.
The tournament, which is hosted by BYU, will take place on the Snow Canyon Golf Course located St. George, Utah. Northwest of downtown St. George, the par-72 course spans across 7,085 yards. On Monday, teams will play 36 holes beginning at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
Colorado State will be among three other Mountain West Conference foes competing in St. George. The field consists of 13 teams including BYU, Colorado, Louisville, Nebraska, New Mexico State, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, San Diego State, Southern Utah, Weber State and Wyoming.
The Rams’ lineup is Natalie Stone, Emily Roering, Kasey Claussen, Brianna Espinoza and Melissa Martin. Cecilie Krefting will be competing as an individual.
Rams at the Entrada Classic...
Formerly known as the BYU Dixie Classic, the Rams posted a season-best second place finish last season at the Snow Canyon Golf Course. Junior Natalie Stone and freshman Brianna Espinoza each posted career-best finishes, grabbing a share of fourth and finishing seventh, respectively.
The Rams closed the tournament with their best team round, a 4-over 292, thanks to strong play from the entire lineup, including a trio of Rams with previous experience on the course.
Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational...
The Colorado State women’s golf team finished the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in seventh place Tuesday.
The Rams posted a score of 306 (+18) during the final round, giving them a total of 928 (+64). The team scored 313 (+25) during the first round and 309 (+21) during the second round. Rollins held on to first place with a three-round score of 904, Nova Southeastern finished second (905) and San Francisco finished third (906).
