Women's golf preview: Rams compete in MountainView Collegiate

The Rams will travel to Arizona to compete in the 12th annual MountainView Collegiate Friday and Saturday. 

Competition will take place at the MountainView Golf Club in Tuscon. The course is par 72 and covers 6,126 yards. On Friday, 36 holes will be played beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. MT. On Saturday, the final 18 holes will be palyed beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. MT.

The tournament consists of 18 teams and 96 players. The field includes Baylor, Boise State, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Gonzaga, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas State, Michigan, Missouri, Northern Arizona, Sacramento State, San Jose State, Texas Tech, UNLV, Washington State and Wisconsin.
 
The Rams’ lineup is Kasey Claussen, Natalie Stone, Melissa Martin, Brianna Espinoza and Emily Roering. Cecilie Krefting will be competing as an individual.

CSU finished in seventh place out of 19 teams with a score of 305 (+17) in last year’s event.

Then-junior Kasey Claussen led the Rams with a final-round score of 75, to finish with a three-round score of 8-over 224, tying with Melissa Martin (74-74-76) for 27th.

BYU at Entrada Classic...
Colorado State slipped barely out of the top three and finished in fourth place Tuesday after the final round of the BYU at Entrada Classic. 

After shooting a score of 317 (+29) during the final round, the Rams tallied a three-round score of 922 (+58). The team had previously shot a 308 (+20) during the first round and a 297 (+9) during the second round. Colorado State’s score was just one stroke higher than Nebraska’s, the third-place finisher, in the 13-team field.
