CSU & OfficeMax Program Announcement
CSU to receive benefits from the Affinity Program

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- After an extensive Request for Proposal (RFP) process and thorough review of proposals and options, Colorado State University is pleased to announce that OfficeMax®, a leader in office products and services, has now entered into an innovative, strategic partnership with the University that will save colleges, departments and university offices money on office supplies.

The partnership with OfficeMax, the new official office products supplier of the university, will additionally provide scholarships and internships to students, as well as significant office supply discounts to students, alumni and friends of the university.

CSU benefits include:

• Affinity Program discounts for all CSU students, alumni, friends and donors.  Discounted pricing will be available on the web and in the OfficeMax retail locations.  All sales generated from the Affinity Program will result in a 4 percent rebate back to the university.  For more information on the Affinity Program, visit the Alumni Association Web site.

• CSU and OfficeMax will be partnering to hire interns as part of the strategic partnership.  Two paid internships will be available to CSU students each year, which will provide business experience and opportunities for these future leaders.  As the partnership builds, the number of paid internships may increase based on the volume and demand.

• Beginning in year four of the partnership, OfficeMax will fund up to five $1,000 scholarships for CSU students per year when the Affinity Program rebates reach certain levels.

• CSU and OfficeMax will collaborate on best-practices to further advance both organizations, including exploring ways to support Colorado State's "green" initiatives with reduced waste and increased use of environmentally preferable products, including recycled and reusable products.

• OfficeMax will also be collaborating with the CSU Bookstore by providing unique offerings to help support its operations, as well as providing retail solutions at the main campus bookstore, as well as the Denver center.  Details will be provided as they become available.

• CSU and OfficeMax will also be exploring ways to collaborate and share ideas and best practices.  Some future endeavors may include having speakers from both organizations sharing training/teaching seminars.

Given the challenging economic times and tight budgets for higher education institutions, CSU believes this partnership will not only provides clear benefits to the campus community, but also demonstrates another way CSU is working to be financially responsible and a good steward of public funds.
