Tennis recap: CSU concludes ITA Mountain Regionals

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- On day three and four of the ITA Mountain Region Championships in Las Vegas, Nev., the Colorado State women's tennis team dropped just five of 14 matches played.
On Friday, the Rams were 4-0 in singles and 0-2 in doubles. On Saturday, CSU experienced similar success going 4-2 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles. Kaley Schultz dropped just six games as she went 3-0 over the two-day span.
In singles play Friday, Schultz, Tori Arneson, Lauren Pick and Natalie Heffron notched victories with just one close match --Pick, 6-1, 2-6, 10-6-- forced to a third-set decision.
The Rams continued their singles winning streak on Saturday as Arneson, Schultz and Heffron notched victories, going 2-0 on Friday and Saturday.
CSU went on to struggle in doubles, winning just one of two matches played. Arneson and Heffron were not only successful in singles, but also as a pair in doubles, defeating their Utah State opponents in a close 9-7 match.
The ITA Mountain Region Championships conclude tomorrow to play the finals round of singles and doubles.
