Opening tip
• The Colorado State men's basketball team opens the 2011-12 season with its first exhibition game on Tuesday evening at Moby Arena. The Rams play host to the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves. Tip is set for 7 p.m. MT.

Looking ahead
• Colorado State returns to the court for its second exhibition matchup of the season on Saturday afternoon, hosting the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs at 2 p.m. MT at Moby Arena.
• The contest is CSU's final tuneup before starting the 2011-12 regular season against Montana on Nov. 11.

About CSU-Pueblo
• The ThunderWolves enter the 2011-12 season under new leadership as first-year head coach Ralph Turner takes over the reins of the program from former Rams' assistant coach Pat Eberhart, now an assistant coach at Nebraska-Omaha.
• CSU-Pueblo was 11-15 (8-14 RMAC) in 2010-11.
• The team returns seven letterwinners from a season ago, led junior guard Nathan Tigner, the team's leading returning scorer at 9.0 points per game. Senior guard Ty Trahern ranks as the team's returning rebounding leader with 2.9 boards per game.
• Turner, a former NAIA National Coach of the Year, joins the CSU-Pueblo program after serving 15 seasons as the Head Coach at NAIA powerhouse Union (Tenn.) University, where he amassed a 362-151 record and led the 10 NAIA national tournament appearances.

Rams vs. the ThunderWolves
• Tuesday's exhibition game marks the first matchup between CSU and CSU-Pueblo since the Rams captured a 76-67 victory over the ThunderWolves to start the 2006-07 season.
• The Rams are 5-0 all-time in regular-season matchups against CSU-Pueblo.
